The dead bits which fall off wrap around the mower and whipper snipper and are so strong they often completely jam.

I made some cordage out of it the other day and it worked quite well. I just cut the big and small end off 2 pieces and then twined them together using the standard approach you can find on YouTube.

Its on the property here so I can collect as much as I need. Its got multiple trunks on it and when I cut down two it resprouted a whole bunch of smaller ones. So I could potentially harvest a trunk or two from time to time if I want to use them as posts or something.

Looks like cordyline australis to me, Is that yukka?
