Found this bug attached to my bath towel, halfway through drying off after a shower!

Well behaved, and rather a friendly bug. Found its friend inside a couple of weeks ago. It looks like a native wood louse?

Put both outside in the garden to resume whatever they do.

(We're doing renovations so perhaps they've been disturbed or found their way inside through the open woodwork?)

Yep, looks like the same family but not exactly the typical pie-dish - this specimen had ridges that ran along the length of its body, and was more elongated. Reckon it would make a good pet for those so inclined as it was lively and 'well behaved'.

Yes, that seems a closer match. According to Insectopedia, '... Large flights of these beetles occur on still, warm nights in late spring-early summer ...' describes the current weather too.
