Trying to improve my track identification skills. The ground around here is quite sandy. I have been setting up some sand traps and putting a wildlife camera on them. A cordless leaf blower is used to create a pristine surface at dusk and review of the camera footage in the morning gives me positive ID of what made any tracks I find next morning. Sand results in some pretty indistinct tracks so I am about to experiment with some type of drop in clay surface (think drop-in cricket pitch) on established tracks.
