OK guys here is the idea with this thread.

This is my idea to help out people on both sides who want to see more real outdoor skills. I think we all agree that we enjoy and want more threads with pictures and a story or tutorial about a real world outdoor skill, technique or piece of knowledge.

What I suggest is that if you have an idea for a tutorial, skill or similar that you would like to see a thread dedicated to on the forum then post your ideas up here. I will collate the ideas from time to time into the top of the thread and members can visit this thread to get an idea of what people would like to see. This will give people inspiration and an idea to go out and put together a post on that topic if they have something to share. You can reply to this thread if you like with a link to your post and I will add it to the top. Think of it like a pinboard for topic ideas.

I would really encourage members to take photos if they can of their process as this will really add to the thread.

An outline of the different types of iron/steel and other metals, their uses and
how to test/recognise them, where to buy/salvage them.
especially the different knife making metals.

pity about the aboriginal fishing thing...where I live nearly every technique is illegal other than the old hook and line. :(
