Yep , got a Magnesium Rod .. & They light up easy and burn hot ..
Magnesium is great for making difficult material burn ( As long as it will burn )
Mag burns at 2200 °C , 4000 °F ...
So whilst it's a short burn , it burns hard ( hot ) .
I keep mine in a old M&M plastic tube with a top ( Supermarket ) ..

Yep , and a small benefit is those M&M's ... Well if you like M&M's
I buy the odd one when they are 50% off ..
That way I have a spare container for stuff that might want some isolation .

And something else to consider = A E.lighter ( Electronic )
USB recharged , so very Solar Panel friendly .. If you have a solar charger that does USB ..
Many folding portable Solar systems out there .

Yeah , Magnesium burns ..
I remember working at an engineering place and the owner was turning 90% magnesium wheel rims ..
And he had to be ever so careful not to set the rims on fire .. ( Lots of machining fluid / coolant )

Another great use for the M&M tubes, storing ground coffee or hot chocolate! I’ve had a few in my kit for years, fantastic sizes for a couple drinks.
