Swedish candle

Does anyone have experience with Swedish candles? I tried to make and light one today but it wouldn't light, it was seasoned iron bark that I was using. Any suggestions?

You will need to use a softwood. Try pine

And throw more starter in the middle ..

I jammed fatwood in mine, in the cross-cut just to get it started (I lost the pics of it burning sorry)

Uh torch, i for some reason thought they were called candle
