Common Name: Swamp Harrier

Order: Falconiformes

Family: Accipitridae

Other Names: Marsh Harrier

Distribution: Widespread throughout Australia.

Habitat: Fresh or salt wetlands, often seen around swamps with reeds and open water.

Field Notes: Slender body with long slender legs and a long tail, mostly dark brown above with a distinctive white rump.
