Hi again all.
Check these out.
Search ebay for "Survival Knife Light Fire Starter Rod Whistle FSW0101"

Light my fire folder with ferro rod + inbuilt whistle.
I have one of thes knives (cost me a bit motre than they're selling them here tho) & have found them to be quite a handy spare to have floating around.
Not the greatest quality knife I've ever come across but not too bad either.
Quite a good buy if you're after a spare folder to leave in your pack, etc.

Thanks for the link mate, that looks pretty functional as a spare and the price is right.

Add does not actually state that it's a LMF product so I expect it is not marketed by LMF, although it's most likely made by the same manufacturer.
Doubt it would be a 'rip off' as I couldn't see the market being big enough to justify making a copy.
Probably made by the squillions in China by the same manufacturer & marketed with branding by LMF, & sold in this instance by an independent seller.
The one I have seems to be of reasonable quality with a good sharp blade, albeit not one I'd want to try any real HD work with, but certainly the ferro rod works ok as I've started more than a few blazes with it now. Have had no trouble with it at all & rate mine as about a 6-7 out of 10.
As a spare it's pretty good value I reckon.

They look pretty cool... bit of a toy, but like you said as a spare, perfect!

Ultimate Survival Technologies made a shed load of these before LMF was even known outside of Sweden...

Yeah mine was actually made by Ultimate Survival Technologies & marketed by 'Tool Logic' (I think).
Not a bad little knife but a little overpriced for what they are I reckon.
Still, it's now done a fair bit of work & I have no complaints about it.
