Scientific name: Melithreptus validirostris

Common Name: Strong-billed Honeyeater

Order: Passeriformes

Family: Meliphagidae

Other Names: NA

Distribution: Endemic to Tasmania - widespread throughout the state.

Habitat: Forests

Field Notes: Olive brown above, pale grey brown underparts, black head, black nape, black throat with a white patch over the eye and a white crescent patch on nape.
Juveniles: brown crowns, lemon tinged nape, orange base of bill.

Good to see another Honeyeater added to the list JKM. There are so many of them. Nice looking bird.
