As you study the tutorial in each step the left hand photo (and the text) describes the action and the right hand photo shows the result of that action. Tony

my wonky button now looks like an odd knot I will never get undone lol

when the button hole is cinched up to the button, the loops are uneven? :rolleyes:

guess I need to cinch up the button hole small on another diameter tube, then get my lengths even, then do the button

Your carabiner looks good..
Using slippery material as you did makes the button a bit more difficult to tie so well done.
Now try the E-Z version that I just posted. I think that you will like it. Tony
