Did a pre-meet recon today of Peach Trees camping area and Jimna with Dusty Miller.
Although its only about 60km away as the crow flies, there is no direct road there from my direction so we approached from
the north through Murgon and although the bitumen roads were good at first there are many Kms of rough gravel roads, not good for
our 2wd. We did see a good sized herd of deer that showed us thier rear ends pretty quick.

Plenty of space at Peach trees camping area

Plenty of dry lantana for hand drills.

Inquisitive wildlife

Plenty of kangaroo scat for tinder.

The good bitumen road south to Kilcoy (steep in a few places), only the last few Km to Peach Trees are gravel.

Was the dirt track section from Manumbar to Jimna better than the rest or has the rain washed large holes. Also remember the traffic that will be there for Landcruiser park.

Plenty of dead lantana for fire drills.

Mopoke roost

Lots of reptiles, blacks snakes too.

The bell miner would likely drive you nuts after a while.

Some wild raspberries in flower, I think berries might be a bit much to expect by Saturday.

We didnt see any other traffic on the gravel section until we passed the landcruiser park turn off, some of the 4Xs were moving pretty quick too.

With some people camping, do you guys still reckon the day use area or just meet up beside where John (or someone else) is camping?

I'll see yous at the camping area.
My son is bailing up, hes a bit worried there will only be adults and will be deprived of his vid games.
I'll bring a little bit of fire wood.
Dont forget the aeroguard, with all the animals around it might be a bit ticky.
