Scientific Name: Todiramphus sanctus

Common Name: Sacred Kingfisher

Order: Coraciiformes

Family: Halcyonidae

Other Names: NA

Distribution: Throughout Austarlia coastal regions, less common in Tasmania

Habitat: woodlands, mangroves and paperbark forests, tall open eucalypt forest and melaleuca forest.

Field Notes: Turquoise back, turquoise blue rump and tail, buff-white underparts and a broad cream collar. Broad black eye stripe extending from bill to nape of neck. Size 19-23cm.

Some more of the nest Thanks to Dusty taking over 300 pics we now know there are at least 3 babies in the nest. So some more pics showing feeding and more details of entry.
