Common Name: Rufous Songlark

Order: Passeriformes

Family: Locustellidae

Other Names: NA

Distribution: mainland Australia, but most commonly in New South Wales, Western Australia and Queensland.

Habitat: open grassland, grassy open woodland, farmed land and mulga

Field Notes: mid-brown, streaked bird with a rufous rump and upper tail, pale eyebrow and pale underparts, and a dark line through its eye. The male grows to about 19 cm in length and is larger than the female who reaches only about 16 cm.
