Picture 1 Showing a featherstick with 5 complete curls:
(Also showing the stick I started with - a very dry eucalypt. I split the stick, unfortunately the grain wasn't too straight, but it'll do)

I used my $15 Bahco which has a Scandi grind (its basically a re-branded Mora Clipper)

Picture 2 Showing a Forehand Grip in use:
(Hey ... its hard to take a pic and carve at the same time ! Full fist and pushing down from the shoulder)

Picture "3" Showing the featherstick in action - For good measure I thought I'd better light it with a ferro rod.
It took a few blasts before it caught ... I really needed some finer curls !

I thought I'd rather try and use a common timber. If I can do it with a hard old eucalypt, the I know I can do it anywhere !

... also thought I'd better light it ... why else make one ?
