Common Name: Red-browed Finch

Scientific name: Neochmia temporalis

Family: Estrildidae

Order: Passeriformes

Other Names: Red-browed Firetails.

Distribution: From the top of QLD. down the East coast thru to SA..

Habitat: grassy areas interspersed with dense understorey vegetation, often along creek lines.

Field Notes: recognised by its bright red eyebrow, rump and beak. Upperparts are olive green with grey underneath. Both sexes are similar in appearance.
