Can you find a review / test on a Razor Blades Cutlery Knife ? ( Well , here is one - well , part of one )
Factory Edge Put to the rope .
The knife came today , and was purchased quite some time ago ..
I guess even mail has to go thru 14 days of isolation .
Anyways , I paid $26.50 to my door for this one .
And with a little sunshine peeking out from what was otherwise a Nasty day , I decided not to wait for worse weather !
On the rope test , we got ourselves a magnificently disappointing 100 slice FAIL .
On the factory edge performance was below average .. ( In my books )
Rest of the knife :
THe weight is good for the size .
Apparently 440c blade steel , rubber handle . And a nylon sheath ( not terrible ) .
The knife was a slop fit in the sheath and filler was called for . ( Take out that slop ) .
What's with the holes ? Is this some new tacticool trend ?
For gawds sake , forget about the holes .. ( To me they are just a PITA )
Resharpening :
The pain !
Seriously , I was wondering why I felt so tired and fatigued .. ( Why my back hurt )
I spent one and a half hours grinding / correcting the bevel on the knife .
That's a new record by approximately 45 minutes .
The factory bevel / grind was ( dog poo ) .
And around 1/4 of the blade toward the handle is still dog poo !
Yeah , I'm not grinding that dog poo any longer .
3/4 of the blade is good now , and ready for another slice test @ the rope .
Will a decent grind help ?
Come back for part two and find out , then we can all find out ( especially me )
