Distribution: Australian west coast from exmouth to cape naturaliste
Habitat: Coastal reefs to the edge up to the edge of the continental shelf.
Field Notes: A deep red to plumb coloured lobster. Juveniles may appear light pink in colour. The legs are red with dark olive to black patches in the centre.
Uses: Lobsters are good eating and can be cooked on coals in their shell or boiled. Females with eggs should always be released.
