I saw an article about a new(?) mobile app that can identify plants from a photo taken with the phone camera. I searched around and couldn't find it mentioned before.
PlantNet seems to use machine learning to identify plants. Although it is mostly include French plants so far but might be something to watch and contribute to. It doesn't seem to have any association with the PlantNet website run by the Royal Botanical Gardens in Sydney.
