Thanks for this thread Corin.

I just recently joined back up to Scouts as a Leader and tonight I had to teach the Scouts some navigation skills. I used a combination of the skills I already knew and also what I could remember from reading this thread the other day. I just wish my printer was working so I could have stolen some of your pics to use but I managed to improvise with what I could remember.

Corin,

Enjoyed very much, just wondering do you use a Prismatic Compass, I still use one but then again I have been using one since the late 70s while in the Army, don't mind the silver an excellent system. I think that teaching these skills is so important particularly with Sat Nav so readily available I would hate to see these practical navigation skills go by the way side and people being put at risk by relying solely on electronic systems.
