I have started making YouTube vids, very early days yet and still trying to find my groove. I will be doing knife vids for the most part to begin with, though am planning to expand into EDC, paracord crafting, bushcraft, prepping, survival, guns and gear down the track (though knife vids are my primarily focus, that's where my passion lies for the most part) My channel is called Orion (will probably change that down the track) and would love if anyone subscribe, like (if you think the vid is worth it) and comment, and am open to any advice anyone has for a new YouTuber.

Good knife guy called "Aussie Mark" on You Tube and is worth a look at.

I would suggest a bit more editing and not shooting everything in one big long take. I normally have a start or into bit to establish things. Then switch to a close up looked of the gear with most of the info and details. Then edit to a conclusion/end, with follow up info like were you can or get the knife. Mix from head shots to close up is much more interesting to look at for the viewer.

Just my 5 cent on what I have seen so far...

I did not mate, much to my chagrin if I am honest.
Out of box sharpness is good but not essential IMHO, I like starting sharp but can deal with a not-so-sharp blade if I have to. I have found most premium folders start pretty sharp these days, though I haven't put any on a BESS tester to be able to say definitively how sharp mine have been. Most new folders I have bought recently have been near shaving sharp or shaving sharp right from the get go which is plenty sharp enough to my way of thinking.

BTW good to see you post again Steve, on any forum, I miss our interactions.

I have always liked the SRK and the Pendleton Hunter(y)
Cold steel videos are pure knife porn:love: I saw one once with a lance sword. I was shocked at how formidable a weapon it actually was- it went through a pig carcass like butter! Seriously dangerous weapon! Onn-guar!
