three more strikers were knocked up today at the forge, two for me and one for my nephew (the bottom Viking bow tie).

a milestone for me this is my 150th striker in my collection, though I have actually surpassed that number by several already.

I forged this, a medium single curl colonial, Wiltshire Australia file. Sparks very well, as good as any I've bought.

my latest striker and probably one of the most exotic and unusual I have ever bought, plus a long wanted and awaited one.

M.O.A.B. Large High Grade buffalo horn handled striker, came with a very nice, large piece of flint, sparks well. Going to make a video on it now. Just made up a kit for it. Still waiting on some of that German premium lamp wick though included some rope lighter wick in there for the moment.

how it turned up, ruler for sizing, quite a large striker, good thick striking face. This was an expensive striker but worth it IMO. Already struck it and it sparks very well.

I'm looking for a reliable source of wick rope. Is that also an ebay item? If so can I get a link? Cheers

if you don't mind Chinese made lamp wicks (I buy this all the time, quality cotton lamp wick despite being Chinese sourced), can take upward of 2 months to get to you

if you want to buy a really expensive but not Chinese lamp wick, this is a top-of-the-line-lamp wick (IMHO too expensive to just burn, I do use it in my oil lamps though)

Whether it's Chinese or not is irrelevant to me. I get it if it works. I get Chinese flint and steel fire kits from Alibaba for my bushcraft courses. You have cheep crap and quality products. depends on the manufacturer. I have products from the same factory as Uberleben and ASR at half the price because I have half the overheads. People think if they buy from a German company, its a German product. NOPE. Cheers for the reply.
