I was thinking it wouldn't hurt to try it if you had a tree corer and replaced the core when finished, but it might not work too well with paperbark. [video=youtube_share;jPJUewNcvao]http://youtu.be/jPJUewNcvao[/video]

Yes it could very well work mate...i have taped a few trees when i have needed to with just a knife. fill the hole up with mud after to help the tree heal.
