Scientific Name: Litoria caerulea

Common Names: Green tree frog

Other names: White's Tree Frog, Dumpy Tree Frog

Order: Anura

Family: Hylidae

Genus: Litoria

Species: L. caerulea

Distribution: N.E of a line drawn through Alice springs and Jervis Bay. (fully half of Australia) encopmpassing many environments, from desert regions to coastal rainforest. Also in PNG, Irian Jaya.

Habitat: see above.

Field Notes: Large green frog. Docile nocturnal. Often found in toilets, in guttering and outside houses near lights at night. A popular pet throughout the world.

This bloke has "adopted" us - we often find him at the back or front door making the most of the light attracted free feed.
Even our little dog has accepted him and just gives him a sniff and keeps on going:_sii:
