On the DEC website, it said that the camp ground was closed until further notice, is this correct??

Hi Thrud

This camping area is in the Avon Valley and is "unofficial". The head ranger for the area lets a few of us "responsible" hammockers use it.

Hi Guy's ,sorry for the delay, i'm keen to head out after wk on the sat arvo in question(i'm easy) but i'm really a 4x4 camper atm & only have a day bag...... Have the minimal stuff i need to be happy but no way to pack it in & i suspect my shoulder wouldn't like me if i could.....

I could wheelchair the load in if the path/track is 700mm wide?? Wait that's not bush craft lol

Cheers Bourby

Sweet..that looks like a great spot Doc!! I'll have about 40 litres of water on my ute as well so we should be well covered.

Hi Bourby

The route to the campsite (1 km) from where we will leave the vehicles is an old 4x4 track which is now EXTREMELY rutted and quite steep. All you will need at the campsite is a small tent/bivvy, sleeping bag, food & water. We can help you carry some of the stuff. Redtail & Bloffy have requested a team of porter ala David Livingston style:non sono stato io:

At worst, you could socialise with us at the camp and return to your vehicle on the hill to sleep - easily done!

Cheers

BROWNIE - maybe come with Uneekwahn and park at the very secret parking spot and walk 200 m on flat ground to the camp?
THRUD

That makes a maximum of 10. Have I missed anyone out?

To everyone who is attending the campout, please PM your full name, mobile number, email address and vehicle rego so that I get the camp fees & access permissions sorted out with DEC. I will email the maps, directions and coordinate list to locate the site.

Cheers

The Admiral has given me a leave pass, but pointed out it is M-day on the Sunday, so I will have to bail on Sunday am...

I've lost track of what the dates are:confused: but Ican't do May and late June is the earliest for me so, as with things of this nature, if you have the numbers just go and have a good time.

The rest can do it some other time and if you have a lot of nice pictures there will bee enough people hankering for a second meet.

@BOD: Sorry about the date. Couldn't be helped but hope for more in future.

Really looking forward to this trip.

I'll be taking the Friday off work and getting to camp probably around 9/10am if anyone wants to meet early.

Bloffy, quick side note, I'm back working with Wilko again :)

Cheers,

Jason.

Hi Bloffy

I will try to get around to putting together the coordinate list, contact list and maps and email them tomorrow. Quite a bit of work!
