I am tired of having to add Australian spellings to the spell checker because it seems the default setting is for American spelling

All of my posts auto correct words and/or make suggestions that are Australian English (I use Safari on Mac & Firefox on PC)

I don't think the spell checker your referring to is powered by the forum. I'd say it's either your internet browser or computer region and language settings that are wrong.

You could be right there I use google chrome and now you mention it it's probably the cause

Mine's fine too - if you're using firefox you have to install the Australian language pack for it and set it to default.

Could not get Aust language add-on to work with firefox V14 or V15 (latest). Says its not available for the version. So do not update your FF if you want your Aust Dictionary for now.

Try English-GB and see if that fixes most things.

Hi Moondog. The spell checker is not governed by the forum. It is controlled by your browser and its options. I can only speak for Firefox as that is what I use but this page shows you how to set the English (Australian) language pack. http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb...le=en-US&redirectslug=Using+the+spell+checker

Thanx for your help, three countries divided by a common language. Here I was thinking it was the website that contained default spell check programs
