Common Name: Golden-headed Cisticola

Scientific name: Cisticola exilis

Family: Sylviidae

Order: Passeriformes

Other Names: N/A

Distribution: Northern and Eastern Australia, SE as far as King Island.

Habitat: Coastal, wetlands, swamp margins, wet grasslands, rivers, farmland.

Field Notes: Breeding male; golden-orange head, paler throat and chin, streaked black-dark grey / golden body, black tail. Female; similar to the non-breeding male, buff-brown upper parts, under parts are cream with buff tints, black wings.

Calling at the top of a tree, there were answers from other males in the (near) distance.
