Don't camp under trees

Don't camp under trees ... Even quite small branches falling from a height could cause you damage.

I've often seen sticks stuck into the ground, usually thick end first:

Sticks falling from a high tree can dig into the ground like a spears !

Good advice, more so in this rainy weather that is about. Trees with their roots weakend by rain are a real hazard.

Read in the news only a few days ago of a lady bushwalker whom was tragically killed by a falling tree branch.

Good post Aussie, though from past experience I think this is made worse by the wind. Still a very real hazard though, & even if you are not directly under the canopy, the wind can blow these sticks in your direction.

Just following up on Aussie's excellent post here, keep an eye out for widow makers when in the woods or forest. You certainly would not want to camp under one!!!
