Whilst I know there are Reds in Wrattens I'd like to know how the above tracks & scat identify them as such.
Nost saying they aren't red deer at all, just looking for the identification aspect.
Bill you are correct I called it such as wratten has only recorded red deer and it is all I have ever seen there. I have changed title so I suppose answering your question on this case is ID came from personal knoweledge and recorded information alone.
PS some would also say gaits and strides could help ID them but I never been one who could or would try and determine from that alone if Different breeds were in same area . If that was the case I would only call it deer unless a visual on them was made
