Common Name: Eastern Quoll

Scientific Name: Dasyurus viverrinus

Family: Dasyuromorphia

Order: Dasyuridae

Other Names: Eastern Native Cat

Distribution: Widespread in Tasmania, now Extinct on the mainland.

Habitat: Rainforest, Heathland, Alpine areas and Scrub.

Field Notes: Averages 60 cm in length, with thick, soft fur that is coloured fawn, brown or black. Small white spots cover the body except for the tail which may have a white tip.
