This is the last lot of stuff Malachi sent me to test, some coconut husks, to be made and processed down into birds nests and as fuel.

Again I will make a video review and see how these fair.

I used to live in PNG and we burned (smoulder is probably a better word) the husks in a bucket under our little "house" as the smoke kept the mozzies at bay...a bit, we both got malaria any way but I reckon it helped.

My go to for ferro rod is the fibrous material from the outside of palm trees. Not quite a coconut husk but similar. Pretty much a one strike flame every time and I have an unlimited supply.

Off topic, but another great one for me is paperbark scuffed up with a knife on the inside.

palm tree fibers are great, as you say mate very similar to coconut husks, they take a spark from a ferro rod very easily.
