I found a really nice tobacco tin today at the markets for a $1 (they usually sell for a lot more money than that) so I jumped on it as they are very good for flint and steel kits (lots of companies sell flint and steel kits in vintage tobacco tins) and this is how it turned out fits my oval striker in nicely (in its pouch) a few pieces of flint and a few pieces a amadou (which I would replace with punk wood when it ran out) I also put some jute (I bought some nice 10mm thick hemp rope that really works well for birds nests when frayed outed) after I took these pics.
