I procrastinated over this one till literally there was only one left .. ( I think this is the last one Nordic Edge had )
Never owned or used 01 before . It is a relatively hard to find in a knife these days . ( Better steels available ? )
Yes , I already have a Brisa 95 in Elmax . But I have really wanted a knife in 01 for some time now .

From what I have read , 01 was popular some time ago for blades . But with more D2 and other more premium steels , 01 seems to have disappeared from the knife scene . No , sure ! You still see the odd knife in 01 ... But one needs to consider price etc .
This one was ................ ? , $89 Oz bananas with free shipping from Nordic Edge .
I have grip screws now , but will need some wood for the grips and a sheath .
But my back us FUBAR , so when will I get to Bunnings to go thru their scrap bin ?

Anyways , I finally got me a 01 blade .

Put the handle on it today ...
Yeah , it actually hurt . Sux's having a bad back !
The handle is glued / screwed / shaped / and sealed ..
Just need to dry / harden ...
Still making mistakes ..
Two mistakes .. Will I or wont I highlight them on video ? ( The shame of it )

Pictures soon ..
Brisa 95 is out in the Sun right now catching some rays ! When ever the cloud cover allows it !
Turned out ok ( grips )

Made two mistakes that really curl my ***** ...

The grinder bit the grips a little too hard , ( grinding down grip screws )
And I forgot to tape the blade ( that is unforgivable ) and the belt bit the edge ( small belt sander ) ..

Two very silly little mistakes ...

Ok , I applied a Varnish to the grips and when fully dry ..
I might need to steel wool the grips to smooth them out .... or maybe not ?
A slightly rough texture offers a better grip or knife retention .

Still outside , Im trying to use the sun to dry the varnish ( much absent sun ) .
Hopefully some UV will get through and help dry the handle ( cure ) .

Wood is Tasmanian Oak ..
Which is very white ...

So I took out a permanent marker ( black ) and coloured in the wood grips .
Then I sanded the grips for a textured look and applied the varnish .
When I slice rope with the factory edge , there will be a video .

I was going to cut rope with the factory edge .... Was !
I rolled the edge on the strop .
Yes , those are band aids on my fingers .. Index finger was sliced by the Brisa while stropping ..
Honestly , that factory edge was sharp ( scary sharp ) I very lightly accidently bumped the edge with my index finger while stropping and it was a very slight touch .. That cut me good ..
The thumb was wore away while lapping my CPU .. Yes , I also lapped my thumb !
My cpu is old enough and tested enough for me to VOID warranty with a lap job .
Wet and dry !
CPU lapping ? Been doing it since around 2000 for improved cooling / overclocks ..
Running a 12 core cpu now and I undervolt now for as quiet a puter as possible !
The older I get , the more I appreciate quiet !
I dont want my puter to imitate a hair dryer in my declining years ..
20+ years ago , 7000 RPM fans were the in thing ..
