Scientific name: Phalacrocorax fuscescens
Common Name: Black-faced Cormorant
Order: Pelecaniformes
Family: Phalacrocoracidae
Other Names: Black-faced Shag
Distribution: found along the Southern coasts of mainland Australia and in Tasmania.
Habitat: Coastal waters, bays, inlets, islands, rocky outcrops and headlands.
Field Notes: dark bill, upper parts are black, lower parts are white.
