Thanks Koalaboi. I think you're on the money or atleast very close. And perhaps a little unclear on my part - i provided 2 specimens and i think the 3rd pic is Elaeocarpus reticulatus however now I'm realising the other 2 images are cissus just in bad photographs (sorry).
From what i read, Elaeocarpus reticulatus fruit is edible once blue. However astringent and not so palatable until the seed inside softens creating a more floury taste.
