thanks leloup, not sure if it's your intent but I've long been interested in the style of gentleman explorers, their clothing, their gear, their style, etc. I'm looking forward to seeing what transpires here

Yes that is what this group is about. Your image is I would say 20th century, so at least 100 years too late for the interest here, so it depends on the period you are interested in. The period in this group runs roughly from 1680 ad to 1840.

that's what i was thinking, being black powder etc. I find the late 19th c to early 20th c to be interesting. earlier stuff too but mostly that era. still, i'm looking forward to the discussions

There are already many posts in this group Peter, just join the group, see what you think, & perhaps make any suggestions for improvement.
    Regards, Keith.

Maybe I have not set it up properly Peter, but I just clicked on the link & it took me to the group on this forum. Perhaps you could try it for me & let me know if it is working for you.
    Thanks.

thanks, I suspect tapatalk can't handle it. When I click the link it takes me to a post of yours from 2011, about building a half-faced shelter. It doesn't take me to the new forum. That's interesting.
I will try the web interface later on and let you know what happens there

ok Keith, I tried the web interface and was able to see the group. The link worked fine. When I went there I was able to see your posts and also join the group.
Now I have tried Tapatalk again and can't see the group or the posts. Sigh....
