    Recognising & Identifying Punkwood/Punk Wood.





    Punk wood-punkwood/Touchwood.
    Dry rot?
    Dry rot Serpula lacrymans is a wood-destroying fungus
    Punk wood or punkwood is Dry rot . Serpula Lacrymans is a wood-destroying fungus that occurs in countries worldwide & makes an excellent tinder.

    Any plant or fungi tinder is also known as Wildfire.

    Thanks for these Le Loup. I will watch them after work. I seem to have bad luck with punkwood and only ever seem to find it after the rains. I find that it acts like a sponge and is difficult to light. That said, I have used it before (in a wet condition) to create smoke in some circumstances to get rid of mozzies and other pests.
